I Call it My "Stawberry Fields" Dress

Created for one reason only. To go to see Beatlemania with my girlfriends.
Robert Kaufman paisley fabric named "Flower Power"
Pink Chiffon sleeves and overlay.

Like a school girl I got a mad crush on the gentleman that played John. He was adorable and does an amazing job in both singing like and acting like the infamous John Lennon. I went to where they were signing some things and he was the only one left still there so I spoke a bit with him. He stayed in full "john" persona to the point where I thought he was British. As we were leaving, they were loading up their equipment and we giggled and  my friend called out, "John, George, Ringo...is that you?" We started walking away and in a decidedly American accent we heard, "Ah, you don't recognize us anymore" and there stood "john" in his all American 2010 garb. Not only American, but from Connecticut.

Very cute. Dimples. School girl crush. Don't tell hubby.

  1. Might I refer to you as "Penny Lane" when you wear that Sassy "Strawberry Fields" dress? You looked amazing, Miss Lassie, in your homesewn Beatlemania dress! In fact, Frank said that if he saw you and he was alone, he would have asked you to go make out with him and then he would have brought you to McDonald's (youthful memories, I assume)!! Also, LOVE the classic 60's action pose on the steps----sooo retro! You must have had a wonderful time (all that flirting does a girl good)and I hope to talk to you soon to hear all the details.

  2. You did a fantastic job on this dress! Love the pink chiffon overlay. Perfect for the concert - but you need to find an occasion to wear it again!

I totally get the giggling school girl crush thing. It happens to me all the time. :-)

  3. Stephanie! A lot of people wanted to make out with Sassy last night! She never looked cuter and more beautiful in that dress and with those EYES! I think the 50's may have to take a back seat to the 60's just so Sassy can wear more Beatles type clothing! Sorry I missed the encounter with John! I bet he was also impressed with Strawberry Fields! Would have LOVED to see him in his 2010 outfit with just his dimples on! SHhhhhhhh...Don't tell hubby here either! LOL! OX

I'm glad you had a good time! There is a Beatles tribute band playing here in RI for free tonight but I don't think I can go, so sad.
