Today what got me started was researching a pattern (of which there does not appear to be one of) for a men's hat. I cut out the plaid wool for hubbies 'real' shirt and there is so much left over I thought I could not only make a cute hat, but also a vest for him or for Miss Moll Doll.
I then became utterly obsessed with some of the hat patterns.
Take this one for example, especially the lower three. Where might one wear this? I guess I could see Barbra Streisand (images as shown on http://barbrastreisand.tumblr.com ) in one of her sixties movies wearing it. Who else?
Perhaps with this suit.
Look familiar?
Helmet head anyone?
I cut out all the pattern pieces for hubbies Men's Shirt Sew-A-Long. The Sew-A-Long is over, but I am still chugging along with the actual shirt. Remember the other shirt I sewed was just the muslin for fitting...even though it ended up as a very wearable shirt.
I also did my gauge swatch for the Briar Rose Sweater Knit-A-Long. I used the wrong size needle. Size US3 instead of 3mm, Woops got my 3's mixed up...and that is not the only thing. I think Tasha may have had it with me as I just am having the worst dyslexic moments with this whole gauge thing.

I can totally see Doris Day wearing the green hat in the top pattern.
