It's Only Been 4 Months

Since Peter sent me this gorgeous fabric as a gift. I went whole hog for a few days and put it together rather quickly and then...then...my Dad got sick and the wedding and blah, blah, blah....

I am happy to say I am 'almost' finished...well I AM finished with the dress, but I still have the jacket to make. My dress form is being delivered today...hip, hip hoorah for birthdays and I really feel as though I have my sewing mojo back.

So without further adieu...here are a couple of photos.

The hem...I found this sweet binding tape in my vintage stash and thought it would be a perfect way to finish the hem. Hubby helped me Sunday morning to get the hem straight. 

I also took the shoulders in as well as the front seam. I can't wait to have a dress form 

(which may have just been delivered to my front door) so I can really do proper adjustments in the future.

It is my one day off today, and I have been busy cleaning the house all day. I am off to veg out for awhile. I will do a photo shoot of me IN the dress sometime soon.
