On to other things. I have put on a few pounds. I am a fairly small person so a few pounds make all of my clothes uncomfortable. I know, I hear you playing your violins, but I hate feeling constricted in clothing.
My clothes these past few months have consisted of sweatpants, yoga pants, more yoga pants and ...well you get the idea. None of my jeans fit and none of the clothes that I have sewn fit. Ugh!! I don't really care about the pounds, I care that none of my clothes fit.
All of my lovely 50's clothes have SUCH tiny waists, and along with a certain thickening of the waist that happens when you're my age....well I may have to invest in one of these. This would look real sexy sticking out of my jeans!!!!!
Or maybe this one since it says it will make me purrrrrrrrrrrrrr all over. Very doubtful on that!
But doesn't she look just lovely with the dressing gown flowing in the breeze?
In the very beginning of January I joined a gym. I worked out once and then all hell broke out with my dad. I had my mojo back then...I don't have it now. I will have to force myself to get back on the bandwagon of working out. I will have to force myself to not eat those chocolate chip cookies I made for hubby. If I don't pick myself up and out of this I may enter the dark hole of elastic waistbands for the rest of my life.
But maybe a sewing project is just what the doctor ordered. I found this sweet pattern in my stash. Look ma, no waistband!!! Maybe it is just the pattern to get me back to sewing. Of course it is unprinted, but what's life if you don't challenge yourself. Back in the fall I found this fabric at my local thrift shoppe for $3.00...
I did not measure the fabric, but I think I have enough. Of course I will make the ruffled sleeves and put the pocket in as well. So wish me luck and please DO send hubby a birthday greeting.
P.S. If you would like to share the giveaway with any of your creative friends, go right ahead. It really is fantastic software for those so inclined to do things with photos.
That pattern is darling!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your hubby!!! Spring birthdays are the best!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your hubby from another April baby!!
ReplyDeleteHappy, happy birthday to your hubby. Great pattern. I think it is just the thing to get you back into the sewing groove.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Mr. Lassie!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your hubby.
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to say that I think you should give yourself a bit of a break re:weight gain, exercise mojo. You have had a trauma in your life and you are on a path through it. I, personally find that walks are very therapeutic for me and I always return with a more positive outlook when I return. Be kind to yourself, pamper yourself, take care of yourself, however that looks for you. Buy a girdle if it gets you through LOL!
Thanks PepperToast...I did end up eating 2 chocolate chip cookies today...but I also worked out for a tad bit. I will be kind to myself...thanks again.
DeleteI agree,Lisa! You have been through a life changing event. Give yourself a break!! Just being aware of things will keep you from that dark hole of elastic waistbands. I must say, however, I live in that hole and it's not all that bad. First and most importantly, do what's best for you and don't be afraid to pamper yourself for a while.
DeleteHow nice that it is your hubby's big 5-0 on Easter. Please give him our greetings from Minnesota. So...Happy Birthday and Happy Easter!
