Here is a photo of me wearing the burgandy ones in the center.
Here is a closeup of some of the details on a few pair.
Most of these with the beading have not survived intact...what a shame...
but given the right event I might just wear them anyway.
And do I dare say I found this ring in one of the fingers of a pair of these. Maybe the lady came home feeling frisky, tipsy and tired and took the gloves off fast and never wore the gloves again. It was so special for me to find this ring and see that it was a horse shoe and good luck sign.
I also wish you could smell how wonderful all these gloves smell,
the leather mixed with perfume and age is intoxicating.
About 10 of them were still in the plastic protective sleeves. I love the graphics on these.
This pair of gloves are brushed cotton. Don't you just love the beads all the way up the arm?
That's a lot of gloves for one lady! I love the ring, what a great story.x
ReplyDeleteI am super jealous of all of your gloves! I have found a little antique shop near where I live that has a few, but most are kids gloves and my hands wont fit in them...Oh and those buttons! I am in love! Very lovely collection!
ReplyDeleteOh I just found some wonderful gloves at a vintage show!! My daughter even wore a pair to the prom....and vintage cat eye glasses!! I think we are kindred spirits...I too love the vintage life.
ReplyDeleteThe amazing thing about these gloves is that they ALL fit me. One of these days I am going to put on a vintage day dress and a pair of smart gloves and go grocery shopping. I just imagine myself strolling down the aisle with a crinoline and gloves. Now that should get some stares...Thanks all of you for following my blog.
ReplyDeleteDig that crazy green!! Looks like all eyes were on YOU. Nice color pairing! Very apealing to the eye!
ReplyDeleteThanks Darrin...all eyes were on me. ;)It was my 50th birthday party and I was dancing up a storm. :))
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous collection -- and all those beautiful details are so lovely to look at!
