I ended up with a cup of tea AND a booze filled cupcake at 9:00 in the morning. I brought the cupcakes with me yesterday to give to Sir Braveheart's sweetheart for tasting and then forgot to give them to her. So what is a gal to do, but eat them.
I received an email the other day from a certain someone saying there was going to be a surprise sent to me via the mail. Is there anything more wonderful than such a thing? A secret surprise? For a couple of days I stood outside in the freezing rain, snow and cold waiting by my mailbox for this said surprise. I was having trouble concentrating and doing much of anything. Remember this:
The package arrived on Wednesday just as I was heading out to work. When I looked at the box size I was sure I would open it up to find something like this, which would have been wonderful mind you , but this is MY Tammy modeling the 'box' and not what was actually in the box.
I never got around to showing off my Tammy when I did all those posts about my Barbie doll's which started a certain someone on a mad shopping spree that has surpassed anything I could dare to dream of. I have Tammy's original bathing suit...and I just love this jester top made out of the smallest of corduroy. Back to the package.
With shaking hands I unravelled the smiley face plastic bag (I liked that touch) to find this:
Does it look familiar?
I was utterly faklempt, thrilled, and it touched my heart to think he would be so kind as to share this lovely fabric with me.
So you can imagine my shock this morning when I read his blog post to find out that he has grown tired of his dress with this same print. I think I feel faint. It could be the cupcake though. Well I adore this print fabric and know it will make the most gorgeous springtime- summer frock.
Blindsided as I was by his post I have since recovered...again it may just be the cupcake. Ithink know he could make the dress, but I do understand boredom with a project so maybe a change of scenery will do him good. Look what it did for Cathy! I sure hope he does not have to drop to those depths to get the change he desires.
I on the other hand am going to move forward and start making the MOST gorgeous outfit with the said Rose Print Fabric. He will be green with envy and it may just prompt him to 'out-do' me. He may be a sewing genius but I have the coyness of a women. There is no match.

So this is the advice have have for him
These are some of the patterns I have in my stash to choose from. Which one do you like and why? I am strongly leaning towards the Vogue S-4987 which is deemed a 'special design'.
It's not like I have all that much time on my hands. There is an upcoming wedding, new job, house that needs more attention, but I will make this dress. No UFO's for me.
I LOVE the new material from "said" fellow blogger, whom I ADORE from afar, just FYI..Cannot believe that your forgot to give Kelly, Queen of Braveheart, the cupcakes!!! I think the new dress may be just what the Dr. ordered for a speedy rehearsal din din!!! OX Love your darling sister, who secretly longs for a Sassy Lassie nickname that is anything BUT Pauline!!!
ReplyDeleteJust to be clear, Sassy, I had every intention of finishing my dress when I sent you the fabric! You didn't get "sloppy seconds!" ;)
ReplyDeletePatti...Queen of Braveheart? I love that name for her!!!
ReplyDeletePeter, I know I did not get sloppy seconds. I just could not resist this post and maybe just maybe I for once will inspire you instead of the other way around ;)
and Peter please do tell me which pattern you like for this.
ReplyDeleteEither 4987 or the blue sheath with the scalloped neckline (I would want you to make a matching opera coat lined with the rose pattern however if you make the sheath!).
ReplyDeleteI like the double-skirted scalloped one, just think if you did the under skirt in a red or pink!
ReplyDeleteYou know I love you but....as Patti said, "I adore ( you know who) from afar"....I think you need to have a get together and invite me!
