When I walked in there was a cute older women sitting in a chair. She was quite chatty with those of us standing around waiting. Mostly she wanted to know if there was anyplace she could walk to for some breakfast or lunch as she stated,"I never had breakfast this morning and I am quite hungry". It was around 11:30 in the morning. I looked at her and told her there was no place close that she could walk to as she was "out in the middle of nowhere'. Someone from the auto body business told her they would drive her someplace to get some food. It was not until she left that I found out who she was and I only wish I had known so I could have told her how much her husband had inspired and delighted me.
Who was this special lady? Mrs Fred Rogers!! Well I guess the photos gave it away. I can't begin to tell you how much I loved Fred. My children watched him everyday when they were young and I would often sit with them and share the show or listen while I was preparing dinner. The show came on at 5:00 in the afternoon and I was often exhausted from caring for two small children. My marriage was on the rocks and near ending and I felt like a failure. Then Mr. Rogers would come on and say, "You always make each day a special day. By just you're being you. There's only one person exactly like you in the whole world. And that's you yourself, and I like you". It was just what I needed to hear and really made a difference in my life.

"If you could only sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to the people you may never even dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person."
— Fred Rogers
