What Is This?

Me pulling my hair out.

Just to reiterate, sewing needs concentration. It is not something to be done while distracted, even if you have already sewn the garment before. And yes I am still distracted with all the news coming out of Japan. I am working on the collar of my MPB shirt and instead of cutting a front facing and front interfacing (I might have cut them, but with so much time in between cutting and sewing and plaid all over the place who knows where it ended up) I cut two front interfacings and sewed it all together, only to be befuddled by why it was not working.
Into the closet I went and pulled out the muslin. Ahhhhhhhhhh, although it did not dawn on me right away what I had done wrong I soon figured it out. So I sit here now and am blindly picking out stitches in plaid fabric with thread that matches so perfectly that I can hardly find them. Ahhhhhhhhh and Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

  3. You look so darn cute in this picture ! I agree with Peter, time to do a good for you style thing, that requires a manicure or something like it. Retail therapy ?
Thinking and praying for you all.
    Love,

PS - do you think if you ran some chalk lightly on the stitches you would be able to see them better ?

  4. Peter,Yes...Surrender...I concept I know well, but have still not mastered.

Elise, chalk is a great idea. Too bad I don't have any here...another thing to add to my list of must haves for sewing. :)

  7. Agreed. Distraction can equal disaster when sewing, I've certainly learned that first hand. Sometimes disaster strikes at no fault of our own, too (as when I recently had an invisible zipper break right after I had sewn it into my dress. Hpmh!) But, keep it up! I second Lisette's comment, you can do it!
