Life is a Bowl of Cherries

DSCF2655
Never in my life have I decorated with artificial flowers, but somehow this arrangement in its vintage
1940's cornucopia feels lovely and true for me. I just adore it.

More than ever these days I am so happy to be living a life that is mind full of the environment without being too over the top. You could call me a tree hugger, but there is nothing granola or crunchy about me. I find all of this new organic and green merchandise somewhat off putting. Don't get me wrong, I am all for making it a 'greener' world, but I abhor the merchandising and marketing behind it. Ugh!

I do not help our economy in the least. I am just not a shopper, go-out-to-eater or any of the other number of things they say we need to do to keep this economy running. How do you feel about all of this? Are you a shopper? Do people really need 150 pair of shoes? How many sewing machines does one need? How many cars do we really need in this world? Okay it IS Labor Day. Let's celebrate the great American tradition of working hard.
Life is just a great big bowl of cherries, right?

  1. Thanks for the video. It made me smile and chuckle. I feel similar -- about life and keeping it simple.

  2. I agree with you, we are green but it really irks me that "organic" cottons cost twice as much as regular cotton. Is it just me?

  3. I have been chided, over the years, for doing as much consignment shopping as I do, or even to the Salvation Army store, but that IS one of the simplest ways to be green...Oh, and using green energy of course..That helps the environment MORE than almost anything else we can do! OXOX
